BHUBANESWAR: A mock exercise was conducted jointly by different teams at a prominent mall in the city to face chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats caught the public off-guard.
Finally, the mall’s manager told the rescue team that one of their staff is missing.The NDRF engaged their dog squad to trace the missing staff inside the building.
After detecting radiation level by the fire brigade, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) were also called in for help.Later staff of Odisha state disaster management authority (OSDMA) and civil defence personnel along with mall staff swung into action for a mega rescue operation.
