58th Annual Athletic Meet Of Sainik School Bhubaneswar Closes

Report by Pratap Pradhan; Bhubaneswar: The 58th Annual Athletic Meet of Sainik School Bhubaneswar held at Gandhi Stadium of the campus closed on 4th Oct 2019. Air Marshal J N Burma, PVSM, AVSM, VSM the veteran Air Force Officer of the Indian Armed Forces graced this occasion as Chief Guest. On his arrival at the Campus there was a great joy amongst the Cadets, as he happens to be an inspiring personality to the Sainik School Cadets as an old alumnus of Sainik School Bhubaneswar. Gp Capt Dominic Rayan, Principal extended a warm welcome in his words of appreciation to this exemplary war veteran. In his address the Chief Guest highly appreciated the performance of the Cadets and appealed them to excel further in sports and bring pride to own School, State and Nation. In this meet Cadet Ravi Kumar (Sr) was awarded as the Champion Athlete amongst Seniors for the third time, while Cadet Ravi Kumar (Jr) was the Junior Champion of this meet. Overall the Manekshaw House received the running trophy as the winners-up followed by Katari House as Runners up amongst seniors. Among juniors Arjan House stood as Champion House and received trophy followed by Kariappa and Katari Houses as runners up. In this closing ceremony more than 600 cadets of eleven houses presented a spectacular show of displays like Karate, Mass PT, Pyramid, Yoga, Aerobic, Band, fan fare and Beating the Retreat. This meet was opened on 01 Oct 2019 by Shri Madhusudan Padhi, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Odisha, who is an Obean of Sainik Schools, as the Chief Guest. The whole arrangement was made under the supervision of Commander Pritika Sharma, Administrative Officer and guided by Wg Cdr Amitabh Ranajn, Vice-Principal. The programme was co-ordinated by Shri Bigheneswar Pradhan, Senior Master and CHM Ajit Kumar. Eventually Wg Cdr Amitabh Ranjan proposed a Vote of Thanks. Related Comments comments
