Odisha Govt to organise its national level fair Sisir Saras 2020 from January 4 to 14 2020

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) will organise its national-level fair 'Sisir Saras-2020' at the IDCO Exhibition Ground here from January 4 to 14 2020. “The Mela provides a big platform for sale and display of products made by SHGs and PGs. This is being organised in association with Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Mission Shakti, H and CI, KVIC, KVIB and the Nabard,” said the Minister. Besides, SHGs/PG from all the 30 districts of Odisha will participate with products of terracotta items, food and spices, handloom items, forest products, Kaincha works, Sabai and teak wood products etc. Among others, ORMAS CEO Smruti Ranjan Pradhan and PR and DW Joint Secretary Swoyam Prava Mohanty were present.

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) will organise its national-level fair Sisir Saras-2020 at the IDCO Exhibition Ground here from January 4 to 14 2020. After chairing a meeting, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena said Sisir Saras has been a part of the States cultural calendar in the first two weeks of January every year. The Mela is a part of the Governments poverty alleviation programme being organised in Bhubaneswar every year. “The Mela provides a big platform for sale and display of products made by SHGs and PGs. This aims to create market linkage of rural producers among urban consumers. This is being organised in association with Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Mission Shakti, H and CI, KVIC, KVIB and the Nabard,” said the Minister. Around 25 States will participate in the mega event. This event gives a look of mini India. Bamboo crafts, decorative flowers, winter garments, handloom, silk and rot iron works from UP, Tasar from MP and Chhattisgarh, household decorative items from Rajasthan and Gujarat, food items from Maharashtra, handloom and home furnishing products from Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu, Phulkari garment products of Punjab and woolen dress materials from J and K will all be centre of attraction. Besides, SHGs/PG from all the 30 districts of Odisha will participate with products of terracotta items, food and spices, handloom items, forest products, Kaincha works, Sabai and teak wood products etc. A total of 300 would be put up in the Mela ground this year. Besides, The event would also have cultural events on every evening. Among others, ORMAS CEO Smruti Ranjan Pradhan and PR and DW Joint Secretary Swoyam Prava Mohanty were present.
