In his sand art, artist Subala Maharana of SBI has included citys all major elements which generally attract visitors to the State Capital as it is a major tourism destination with monuments from all three major religious beliefs i.e. Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The banker to every Indian State Bank of India (SBI) came forward to organize making of the sand art with a central theme on promoting the Ease of Living (EOL) Citizen Perception Survey at its sand art facility near the Main Branch so that the customers and general public visiting the campus will see the sand sculpture and know about the survey. The installations remain at the sites for a week, fortnight or month depending on the message. “For the special message on the EOL survey, the sand art at the Main Branch took me nearly 48 hours to finish including the preparatory time as we have to treat the sand with water to settle down and then start working on it. I have used nearly three trucks or 150 tons of sand for the art. The artist said. It can be mentioned here that in order to secure a leading position from among the 100 Smart Cities of India, which are in the EOL Citizens Perception Survey, all the city agencies i.e. BSCL, BMC and BDA have taken up several strategies to reach out to maximum citizens possible so that they would participate in the survey launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Among the strategies homework for parents through the school kids, videos at major LED display boards, briefing sessions at offices of BMC, BDA and BSCL, campaigns through educational institutions, kiosks at the ongoing Park Utsav venues, talk shows organized at city-based FM radio stations, social media campaigns, SMS campaigns, volunteers carrying placards in order to motivate public in public places, slum dwellers involvement through Peer Leaders (Pragati Sathis) and hoardings at strategic locations by BMC have already given a boost to the EOL Citizens Perception Survey.
