By D N Singh. Regardless of the low rate of casualties, Odisha is face to face with a snake & ladder situation in case of the spread of Corona. And what must worry the think tanks more is the steady rise in the positive cases outside the quarantines and the pace seems, soon, the number of positive cases from among the communities would surpass the cases than in quarantines .

At an average of 1300 plus cases each day, the cases from the community stands over fifty percent of the total which may soon spiral out and, God forbid, a time may come when the positive cases from the communities outnumber the ones from the quarantines. That can be a real worry for all of us.
Among the 30 districts in Odisha, Ganjam districts expectedly has shown the exponential rise in positive cases on a daily average of 300 plus and also taking the tolls due to Covid faster than other districts.
But what still remains worrying is the way the people conduct themselves at public places. A senseless risking of something that could be avoided.

Once the biggies of the country become positive, the rants in the media have gone a notch higher and some of them have foreseen, as if, its all end. When the news about union home minister Amit Shah found positive crashed the screens, for a few news anchors the heaven broke loose and the fixed point charts in a few channels were run over by a certain hysteria of sorts .
It went on and on making it appear as if the issue has reached an irreversible stage. Even a news anchor was heard saying that, ‘ now anything can happen’ ( kuchh bhi ho sakta hai).
