In last several years Odisha had some unpredictable cause for its mifortunes in which many of its prides remained under a shadow of dismay. Be it floods or oceanic invasions or dry spell, the state hogged the limelight for wrong reasons.

However, ultimately the reasons for the overdue grace slowly unfolds like the springs from the hills in the shape of individual achievement taking the pride a notch higher.

End Of Drought

The drought seem to have come to an end as Odias, cushioned in a proud cultural depth, now get their scores closer to the limelight.

Namita Melka, an unknown quantity till yesterday, suddenly bursts out from a hibernation to go pan-india fame for her songs in different languages. Hindi, Odia and her own language of a tribal community in the woods of Koraput district is now a popular face.

Geographical isolations couldn`t  bury the names like Dilip Tirkey or Lazrus Barla or Ignes Tirkey  or Prabodh Tirkey making it right into the Olympic fame, telling the world that Odisha cannot be lost sight of as a fountainhead of sports.

Talking about the politics, although the northern patriarchal domination had pushed Odia faces to dimness for long, some leaders have by now left their footprints on the floors of the parliament. Be it Bhatruhari Mehtab credited as a best parliamentarian or Dharmendra Pradhan blinking in the political firmament as a minister who matters, now it has started getting on the graph.

Sangeeta & Sasmit In Focus

Representing one of the most backward districts Bharatiya Janata Party MP, Sangeeta Singh Deo this time elbowed through many to get known as a member of Parliament with an enviable 40 per cent performance in the business of the august house. She has shown the doggedness that representing a backward constituency and telling all that she stands taller than her critics is all about a growing leader.

The other day it was the Biju Janata Dal RS MP Dr.Sasmit Patra reaching out to the Chair of the Upper House to preside over a session was a moment for Odias to boast of a moment to go down in record books. Patra, having an eloquence in debating issues must have been reason behind such a choice. A man with the right home work had in many occasions showed that as a debutant,  he has his reasons to be fashinating as a politician.
