After Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, now the same situation of Covid-19 vaccine shortage has emerged in Odisha. Only two days of Covid-19 vaccine stock is left in the state says Health Minister. The situation is so bad that 700 out of 1400 vaccination centres had to be closed due to a lack of vaccine in Odisha.

Now the State Health Minister has written a letter to the Central Government regarding this.

Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das says that vaccination work has been stopped in many places in the state, we have only two days of stock left In such a situation, if the new stock does not come, then vaccination will come to a standstill in the entire state.

According to the Odisha minister, he currently has 5.34 lakh vaccine doses. 2.5 lakh doses are used in his state every day, that is, this stock will be exhausted in two days. We have demanded from the Center to send at least 2.5 million doses immediately.

So that their work goes on for the next 10 days.

The Health Minister claims that he had earlier appealed to the Center to give 1.5 million vaccines, but there was no reply.

Bijaya Panigarhi, in charge of vaccination in Odisha, says that 400 centres were closed earlier due to lack of vaccine, now this number has reached 700.

According to Bijaya, we had set a target to vaccinate 2 lakh people on Wednesday, but we were able to apply only 1.10 lakh vaccines. There are many districts of Odisha where the entire vaccination program has halted.
