In view of gross violations of safety norms and the recent surge in the Covid-19 cases in the state, the state government has decided to seal the Chhattisgarh border with effect from April 10. The ban on the movement of people and vehicles has been tightened. Even inside Odisha, every person coming from outside the state through land route, waterway or sky route will have to comply with the Covid SOPs. A person coming from outside the state will have to give a negative report after conducting the RTPCR test within 72 hours, otherwise one has to stay in the mandatory quarantine for a week. The person in question will have to provide an undertaking along with his full statement. This has been made clear by State Health Minister Nav Kishore Das and Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra in their directives.
Railway Services Suspended From April 10
According to the instructions, if a person has taken both the vaccines, then there will be no restriction on coming to Odisha. This ban will be tightened from 12 April. At the same time, no passenger or an express train coming from Chhattisgarh will be able to travel. For this, Principal Secretary Mahapatra has written a letter to the Chairman of the Railway Board, Sunit Sharma. He has mentioned in his letter to cancel the railway service indefinitely from 10 April.
