Bhubaneswar: Record 8386 new Covid-19 cases received in Odisha

Khurda District, which includes capital Bhubaneswar, received the highest 1840 new cases.

Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in Odisha. The Covid-19 cases are surging at an uncontrollable speed in the state as a record 8386 fresh cases of Covid-19, while 10 people succumbed to the deadly virus taking the death toll to 2,017. The active cases stand at 55,245 in the coastal state.

The information and public relations department of the state has given this information by tweeting. The total cases tally has mounted 428515 in the state, while 371200 patients have recovered from Covid-19. According to the information given by the department, out of these 8386 new cases, 4781 are from quarantine while 3605 have been infected by contacting the local people.

According to the information, 347 in Angul district, 202 in Baleshwar district, 257 in Bargarh district, 67 in Bhadrak district, 358 in Balangir district, 83 in Buddhist district, 496 in Cuttack district, 61 in Deogad district, 21 in Dhenkanal district, Gajapati 96 in the district, 209 in Ganjam district, 129 in Jagatsinghpur district, 270 in Jajpur district, 433 in Jharsuguda district, 126 in Kalahandi district, 53 in Kandhamal district, 49 in Kendrapada district, 175 in Kendujhar district, 1840 in Khurda district, Koraput 69 in the district, 24 in Malkangiri district, 289 in Mayurbhanj district, 388 in Navarangpur district, 122 in Nayagarh district, 233 in Nuapada district
