Bhubaneswar: Odisha sees a spurt in Covid-19 cases

Odisha recorded 10,031 fresh cases of Covid-19, while 17 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24-hours.

Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in Odisha as the cases are surging at an uncontrollable speed in the state. Odisha recorded 10,031 fresh cases of Covid-19, while 17 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24-hours.

The total caseload of the state has reached 5,44,873, while the active cases tally has been pushed to 94760.

The cumulative death toll has reached 2197 after seventeen deaths were reported in the state.

The information and public relations department of the state has given this information via Twitter. The total cases tally has mounted in the state, while 371200 patients have recovered from Covid-19. According to the information given by the department, out of these 8386 new cases, 4781 are from quarantine while 3605 have been infected by contacting the local people.

Khurda District, which includes capital Bhubaneswar, received the highest 1329 new cases.

According to the information, 456 in Angul district, 230 in Baleshwar district, 450 in Bargarh district, 248 in Bhadrak district, 272 in Balangir district, 183 in Buddhist district, 720 in Cuttack district, 118 in Deogarh district, 244 in Dhenkanal district, 89 in Gajapati, 209 in Ganjam district, 115 in Jagatsinghpur district, 328 in Jajpur district, 418 in Jharsuguda district, 433 in Kalahandi district, 75 in Kandhamal district, 243 in Kendrapada district, 166 in Kendujhar district, 1329 in Khurda district, 142 in Koraput district, 62 in Malkangiri district, 207 in Mayurbhanj district, 306 in Navarangpur district, 269 in Nayagarh district, 311 in Nuapada district, 708 in Puri district, 132 in Raigad district, 302 in Sambalpur district, 169 in Sonpur district, 824 in Sundargarh district and 271 in State Bridge.
