Meanwhile, the government of West Bengal and Odisha have evacuated more than 12 lakh people from risky areas to safe places. The cyclone Yass reached Balasore in the south of Odisha.

Around 404 rescue teams were deployed in sensitive districts of Odisha including 52 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 60 teams of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), 205 teams of the fire brigade and 60 timber cutting teams of Forest Department. West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh have also deployed large numbers of personnel from the disaster relief force, police force and fire force.

IMD DG Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the most intense wind due to the cyclone was moving in Baleshwar, Bhadrak and Medinipur in West Bengal. Even the districts inside Odisha will have wind speeds of 60-70 kph. The wind speeds will remain similar till tonight, after which it will be reduced to a great extent. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected along the coast of West Bengal and Odisha.

Boats and ships suffered heavy damage after landfall in Odisha. The wind blew several check post barricades in Udaipur near the West Bengal-Odisha border.

Flood-like conditions have occurred in Dhamra in the Bhadrak district due to cyclone Yaas.

The same scenes of this cyclonic storm Yaas were seen after it hit the Balasore district of Odisha.

Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team removed the fallen trees on the roads in Paradip Nagar area of ​​Jagatsingh Pur. Odisha Police informed about this.
