Viral: Healthcare workers in Odisha do the unusual by braiding hair and shaving beard of Covid patients

Health workers in Odisha`s Ganjam district exceeded expectations after they decided to braid hair and shave beard of COVID-19 patients. In addition to regular duties, health workers at MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Brahmapur, Ganjam are taking care of COVID patients by grooming them.

A video of this unique initiative of health workers in medical colleges and hospitals is going viral on social media. In the video, a health worker is seen combing the hair of a female patient, while other health workers are seen shaving an elderly patient in the hospital. On the other hand, this video is garnering a lot of attention from the people and this step of the health worker is being praised.

Talking about the viral video, Ganjam Deputy Collector V Keerthi Vasan said, “The healthcare workers at MKCG Medical College and Hospital took a great initiative. They shaved the beard and braid the hair of COVID patients. They receive appreciation from all quarters. The state Chief Secretary also appreciated the selfless service. It is an inspiration for all healthcare workers. We advice other hospitals to start this initiative".
