Odisha logs 6097 fresh cases of Covid-19, 44 fatalities

The coastal state recorded 6097 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday while 44 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the same time.

Coronavirus cases continue to decline in Odisha; the coastal state recorded 6097 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday while 44 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the same time.

Fresh cases on Wednesday pushed the state`s total cases to 8.37 lakh

The cumulative death toll has reached 3,167 after 44 persons died of the disease in the last 24-hours.

The active cases tally has mounted to 69,333.

Khordha District, which includes capital Bhubaneswar, received the highest 647 new cases and 5 fatalities.


According to the information received from the State Health Department, 44 people have died in the state today. In this, a maximum of 5 people have died from Khordha district while 4 from Angul district, 4 from Bargarh district, 4 from Cuttack district, 4 from Jharsuguda district. Apart from this, 2 infected patients have died from Balangir district, 2 from Buddh district, 2 from Mayurbhanj district and 1 from Devgad district, 1 from Dhenkanal district, 1 from Jajpur district, 1 from Kendrapara district, 1 from Sambalpur district.

According to the information received from the State Information and Public Relations Department, even today maximum 1017 people have been found infected in the state from Khordha district while 647 people have been found infected from Cuttack district, 434 from Jajpur district, 392 from Baleshwar district. Apart from this, 295 from Angul district, 107 from Bargarh district, 246 from Bhadrak district, 77 from Balangir district, 130 from Buddh district, 28 from Deogarh district, 73 from Dhenkanal district, 48 from Gajapati district, 45 from Ganjam district, from Jagatsinghpur district 226, 42 from Jharsuguda district, 77 from Kalahandi district, 112 from Kandhamal district, 235 from Kendrapada district, 123 from Kendujhar district, 126 from Koraput district, 84 from Malkangiri District, 297 from Mayurbhanj District, 146 from Navrangpur District, 120 from Nayagarh District, 17 from Nuapada District, 291 from Puri District, 120 from Rayagada District, 101 from Sambalpur District, 64 from Sonpur District and 208 from Sundergarh District.
