Odisha govt has eased lockdown curbs as the state starts the unlock process in a phased manner.

The Odisha government has announced further relaxation in 17 districts that fall under Category A with a test positivity rate (TPR) of less than 5%.

The districts are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada.

The rest 13 cities that fall under Category B are Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kedrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar; Capital Bhubaneswar which falls under the Khordha district is also included in Category B.

Detailed new guidelines:

• Shops for essential goods will be allowed to open between 7 am and 5 pm in 17 districts and from 6 pm and 1 pm in the rest 13 districts.
• Govt has decided to open sweet shops and savoury shops for Parcel
• Physical fitness activities like morning walk and cycling are allowed
• Operation of Public buses is prohibited.
• All essential services, transport of goods, industrial activities, construction activities will be allowed.
• Street vending will be allowed in the Category A districts only for Take-Aways.
• Gyms and Parks will remain closed.
• The weekend shutdown will continue in all districts.

Odisha recorded 3,535 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, while 44 people succumbed to the virus. The total cases tally has reached 8,63,061 in the state
