In an emotional appeal, the Chief Minister said, “Zindagi Anmol Hai. Only our responsible behavior can stop the third wave of infection. I seek all help to keep Odisha safe. Take care of the safety of your loved ones and help ensure that their lives go well.”
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday warned people about a possible third wave of Covid-19, saying that the government will have to impose a complete lockdown if the existing restrictions continue to be violated. He said that after the relaxation of restrictions on August 1, some markets are witnessing overcrowding. The Chief Minister said that the state government is closely monitoring the situation.
The Chief Minister further said, “During the second wave, the situation in Odisha was not like many other states. Scientists have warned that the third wave may come soon. If people do not follow the rules of prevention of Covid-19 in public places, then the government will be forced to implement a complete lockdown. The virus is all around us and there is every possibility to attack more seriously as a different variant.”
CM Patnaik said, “Odisha has started the process of unlocking to strike a balance between people`s lives and livelihoods. If we use masks, maintain social distancing and wash our hands from time to time at homes, we can definitely reduce the intensity of the third wave.”
