When it further worsens then that would be too late for overall existence, let alone put right our outlook for better than the present.

Present has been severely impaired and which is ubiquitous.

Faulty Zones

The most recent one was seen in Nepal where the disaster has ripped apart human existence in threads almost. The scenes emerging from that calamity suggest many things.

Say, the other day it was in Nepal and who knows it would not be Odisha tomorrow. Let’s not forget that the disaster in Nepal had nothing to do with world Climate change but purely regional.

Save Green First

Surge of water and naked surfaces are the main reasons that are born out of pure mindless human greed. Suppose a water surge invades then it requires natural outlets which are in the vanish which aggravates the situation.

The state is known for being a playground for all kinds of oceanic invasions, from 1971 to the recent times among which the 1999 Super Cyclone was in the state’s or even country’s history’s unprecedented calamity that swept the existence of people in over 14 districts. Where the coastal fringes in Jagatsinghpur remain the eye of the storm. That was the Erasama block.

Where the devastation is already history and the occurrence was a loud alarm. Subsequently, few such invasions rattled parts of the state but albeit were lesser in dimension but took place.

But, quite a lot of the damage could have been avoided had there been enough green barrier like forests, be it Mangrove, normal forestry, trees and trees that should match the menace of nature to a great extent.

Odisha might be a usual target of mostly coastal invasions but there are few areas that may fall under seismic threats even areas in Western and Northern areas.

Since the last couple of months everything has shown some ominous signs, either rain, shine or mental discomfort. Monsoon was erratic, pounding and in a way damaging in many areas.

**We Need Not Need Only Green but Green Mind **

As mercury soared up and Odisha`s once beautiful capital Bhubaneswar earns the dubious distinction of being one of the hottest cities in the state, Humidity being killer, yet heads of the, so called, harbingers never turn to that side or listen to what nature speaks.

In a world overflowing with information, opinions, forwards and instant conclusions, scientific temper teaches us to pause, question and investigate.

But, that does not happen, either out of mere ease or deep complacency?

Develop a culture where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, because questions lead to reasons although evidence matters, and reason guides our decisions.

Now it is a war between common sense and bottom reality. Development is not measured by sky-rise apartments but houses to live.
