Dharmendra Pradhan seeks PM’s intervention for cancer care hub in Bhubaneswar

The IOP has sought budgetary allocation for establishment of the hub.Dharmendra's letter to Modi comes five days after chief minister Naveen Patnaik wrote a similar letter to the PM seeking cancer care hub here.The Centre has been setting up such hubs at different locations—Sangrur in Punjab, Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. BHUBANESWAR: Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's intervention for establishment of a hub of Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) inside the Institute of Physics (IOP) here.In a letter addressed to the PM, Dharmendra pointed out a proposal of IOP, which is under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Dharmendra wrote that the proposed hub will provide affordable cancer care and will lead in advanced cancer research.Pointing out that patients from Odisha and neighbouring states visit TMC Mumbai for cancer care, Dharmedra wrote to PM requesting him to direct the DAE to consider the IOP proposal.
