Bhav, Joginder qualify for finals

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh, February 21Bhav Karan Singh and Joginder Randhawa qualified for the National Finals of the Mercedes Trophy at the Panchkula Golf Course. Pune will host the National Finals at the Oxford Golf Resort from April 4 to 6. Karan and Randhawa confirmed their spots by carding a score of 71.4 (Category A) and 73.2 (Category B), respectively, in the Chandigarh leg qualifier. The best gross winner of the day was Raman Kumar with a round of 78. Ashish Chauhan (290 yards) emerged winner in the longest drive challenge.

The best gross winner of the day was Raman Kumar with a round of 78. Ashish Chauhan (290 yards) emerged winner in the longest drive challenge. Tajinder Singh Rihal and LM Goyal won the closest-to-pin contest. Vaneet Khosla won the straightest drive contest. The event was played on double Peoria format. A total of 103 golfers took part in the competition on the opening day. Pune will host the National Finals at the Oxford Golf Resort from April 4 to 6.
