Quoting Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal that by March 31, 2018, the debt on the state of Punjab would be reduced to Rs 1.95 lakh crore, but by the end of this fiscal year it would grow to 2.11 lakh crore, Gandhi claimed that the debt would be 40.82 per cent of the gross state Domestic Product (GDP).
