Another vacation Bench of the High Court has already directed the CBSE to declare the re-evaluation result of Class XII English paper by June 29. The direction by Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan came on a petition filed against the CBSE and another respondent by Saloni Bhugra and other students through counsel Baltej Singh Sidhu. Laying down the schedule, the Bench asked the students to apply for re-evaluation by June 21 and declaration of result by June 29 for enabling the students to appear in Delhi University counselling the next day. Appearing before the Bench, Sidhu had contended that the petitioners were bright students and had secured high marks in the 10th grade. However, the marks now scored in Class XII were on the lower side in the subject of English. A representation dated May 28 had already been filed in the matter. During the course of hearing, the Bench was told that the CBSE had issued a notification asking the students to first apply for re-totalling, followed by request for photocopy and then seek re-evaluation in case the grievance persisted. The Bench was told that the steps were required to be followed in the order prescribed, which would postpone the declaration of result to July end, though the students were to appear for counselling. The case will now come up for hearing on July 2.
