Doctor sent to police remand

The accused were nabbed by the Patiala police after a raid on 'Wadi's Hospital' by the officials of the Kaithal Health Department on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, Civil Surgeon Harish Malhotra said the PCPNDT Act would be implemented strictly so that sex determination was curbed and sex ratio could be improved further. The FIR has been registered under the IPC, the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, the Indian Medical Council Act, and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act. Malhotra, further requested to the people and the ultrasound owners to cooperate with the Health Department in the implementation of the PCPNDT Act and suggested that information regarding sex determination could be given to Health Department at any time.

Kaur Singh, Investigating Officer, has confirmed the arrest of the duo and said further investigation by the police was on, in this matter. The FIR has been registered under the IPC, the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, the Indian Medical Council Act, and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act. The FIR has been lodged at police station Bahadurgarh. Meanwhile, Civil Surgeon Harish Malhotra said the PCPNDT Act would be implemented strictly so that sex determination was curbed and sex ratio could be improved further. Malhotra, further requested to the people and the ultrasound owners to cooperate with the Health Department in the implementation of the PCPNDT Act and suggested that information regarding sex determination could be given to Health Department at any time.
