‘Free medicines for addicts from humble background’

Addressing officials, the DC said drug addicts or persons under the influence of drugs should be given first aid and referred to hospitals, drug de-addiction or rehabilitation centres, if the need for the same was felt. Doctors would be available for 24 hours at the Rehabilitation Centre, Sector 66, she said.

Moreover, such patients must be treated properly as normal patients, she said, while adding that any negligence on the part of doctors and officials concerned would not be tolerated.
