Dahan took drug overdose treatment on fake ID

MOHALI: Gangster Dilpreet Singh Dahan , alias Baba, was admitted to PGI for two days in January for drug overdose. Police have started scanning records of the hospital.Cops said during investigation they found that Dilpreet was a regular user of heroin , which he consumed thrice a day. Teams are scanning the records to know how he got himself admitted, as an identity card is a must for drug overdose treatment,” the police officer said.During investigation, Rupinder Kaur also confirmed that Dilpreet suffered a stroke due to drug overdose and was admitted to PGIMER in January. Rupinder rushed him to the hospital with the help of another person, said a senior Punjab police officer. Neighbours, who had witnessed the incident, informed the cops about it after Dilpreet’s arrest.

Police said he admitted himself on a fake identity.Cops said a neighbour of his Sector 38 hideout — where he stayed with Rupinder Kaur, one of the two sisters he had been living with — saw him falling outside the house after a fit. Rupinder rushed him to the hospital with the help of another person, said a senior Punjab police officer. Neighbours, who had witnessed the incident, informed the cops about it after Dilpreet’s arrest. Police have started scanning records of the hospital.Cops said during investigation they found that Dilpreet was a regular user of heroin , which he consumed thrice a day. “He had collapsed after an overdose in January. The neighbours saw him but at that time they did not know that he was a dreaded gangster,” the officer added.“He might have given his name as Gagandeep Singh or Surinder Singh for hospital registration. Teams are scanning the records to know how he got himself admitted, as an identity card is a must for drug overdose treatment,” the police officer said.During investigation, Rupinder Kaur also confirmed that Dilpreet suffered a stroke due to drug overdose and was admitted to PGIMER in January.
