Carjacking: Panchkula cops to grill accused

PANCHKULA: Panchkula crime investigation agency (CIA-1) brought down the three accused including a woman arrested by Jalandhar police in Panchkula Sector 20 carjacking case on production warrant to Panchkula on Friday. They both fired a bullet in the air while the third accused hit Kumar with an iron rod. One of the accused came out to have a word with him while the other person took control over Rajesh’s car. Inspector Aman said that the accused has been taken to the 2-day police remand. During the police remand, we came to know that the mastermind in the case was Jagseer alias Seera, also a resident of Jalandhar.

PANCHKULA: Panchkula crime investigation agency (CIA-1) brought down the three accused including a woman arrested by Jalandhar police in Panchkula Sector 20 carjacking case on production warrant to Panchkula on Friday. The car which was robbed has also been recovered by the CIA.Giving information, CIA-1 in-charge inspector Aman Kumar, said that Jalandhar police arrested the three accused on information shared with the Punjab state police.The accused have been identified as Jash Chopra, a resident of village Nangal Karar Khan district Jalandhar, Kulpreet Singh alias Prince, a resident of Jalandhar and Narender Kaur, a resident of Surya Enclave, Jalandhar. Inspector Aman said that the accused has been taken to the 2-day police remand. “We have recovered the SUV which was carjacked. During the police remand, we came to know that the mastermind in the case was Jagseer alias Seera, also a resident of Jalandhar. The accused is still at large but we have got some leads and will make his arrest soon”.Accused person are not involved in any other cases except this. The accused were using the SUV for their own use and did not sold it to anyone. The investigation is going on, added Aman. All three accused were booked at the Sector 20 police station on August 21 under Sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 397 (robbery, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 34 (act done by several person with same intention) of the IPC.On August 21, at 11.30pm, Rajesh Kumar, 59, an insurance surveyor, along his wife on his way to home in Sector 20 after dropping his son at Zirakpur bus stand. When Kumar reached outside his housing society, three persons in a Fortuner banged Rajesh’s car. One of the accused came out to have a word with him while the other person took control over Rajesh’s car. They both fired a bullet in the air while the third accused hit Kumar with an iron rod.
