Knife fight sends hubby to hospital

When Prakash refused to meet her demand, his wife took a knife from the kitchen and told him she would kill herself if he did not quit alcohol. But as the wife placed the knife on the wrist of her left hand, Prakash ran towards her. When he was trying to grab the knife from her hands, it accidentally got pressed against his neck. When his wife asked him to give up alcohol, he started arguing with her. Neigbours took him to Government Multi-specialty Hospital , Sector 16.

CHANDIGARH: A man was injured after he tried to snatch a knife from his wife who threatened to slash her wrists if he did not give up his drinking habits in Khuda Lahora on Sunday night.Police said Om Prakash reached home in a drunken condition late in the night. When his wife asked him to give up alcohol, he started arguing with her. Both fought over the issue for a while, neighbours told the police. When Prakash refused to meet her demand, his wife took a knife from the kitchen and told him she would kill herself if he did not quit alcohol. Prakash did not take her threat seriously. But as the wife placed the knife on the wrist of her left hand, Prakash ran towards her. When he was trying to grab the knife from her hands, it accidentally got pressed against his neck. Prakash fell down on the floor. His wife raised the alarm. Neigbours took him to Government Multi-specialty Hospital , Sector 16. Police were also called to the hospital.Prakash on Monday morning was referred to PGI. His condition was stated to be out of danger.Sector 11 police station house officer inspector Lakhbir Singh said, “No case has been registered as it was the internal matter of a husband and wife. No complaint was also lodged. If we get a complaint, we will register a case.”
