Chandigarh: UT panel discusses traders’ issues

More meetings of the panel will be held to finally resolve the trader’s issues, he added. CHANDIGARH: The first meeting of UT’s panel, which was formed to solve problems of traders, was held under the chairmanship of UT finance secretary Ajay Kumar Sinha at UT secretariat on Tuesday evening.In the meeting, which was also attended by office bearers of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM), the problems of traders were discussed.Charanjiv Singh, Chairman, Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, said they discussed issues like roll back of misuse charges, making commercial property freehold, formation of traders advisory committee, permission of general trades in upper floors of commercial building without conversion charges and many other issues. They are hopeful that UT will resolve these issues soon, he added.Vinod Joshi, Chairman, Building bylaws committee of CBM , said they even demanded permission of box type construction of SCO in 1st Phase Sectors, construction of upper floors on booth and bay shops for storage purpose, expansion of parking facility in markets and shifting of vendors from markets.The UT officials were very sympathetic to the demands and the UT Finance Secretary assured to take up the issue with Administrator and come with the solution soon.
