Congress, SAD cadres clash at Badmajra

MOHALI: High drama was witnessed at Badmajra village during zila parishad and panchayat samitis which were held on Wednesday, when supporters of the SAD and the Congress candidates scuffled with each other. Cops informed that they have registered a case against them under Section 7/51 of the IPC at the Balongi police station. Meanwhile, heated arguments were passed between them and they had minor scuffle.According to the police, those arrested have been identified as Ajay, Ashwani Kumar, Randhir Singh and Jaggi. SHO Balongi immediately controlled the situation and arrested four persons.Police said the incident took place when a SAD candidate, who is contesting for block samiti seat, reached at booth with four bouncers.Station house officer (SHO), Sub-inspector (SI), Manphul Singh said that on Wednesday morning SAD candidate, Usha Rani, who is contesting for block samiti seat, arrived at polling station with four bouncers and supporters of Congress candidate, Kamljit Kaur raised objection to it.
