Ex-CM Badal shown black flags at Budhlada

BATHINDA: Activists of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) on Friday waved black flags to former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal from a distance during his visit to Budhlada town of Mansa district where he had gone to meet his party workers. Badal said Amarinder was trying to disturb the peaceful fabric of Punjab. “Congress is supporting the radical elements, which is not in favour of peace in the state. The state government, through Bargari and Behbal Kalan incidents, is promoting the radicals. The Congress is playing with fire, it will not succeed,” he said.

Mansa police had made elaborate security arrangements and did not allow the protesters to go near Badal.About a dozen workers of SAD (Amritsar), led by its Mansa unit chief Balbir Singh and party executive committee member Rajinder Singh Jawaharke, demanded the arrest of SAD patron Badal for his alleged role in the Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura police firing in October 2015.Later speaking to the media, Badal accused Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh of providing tacit support to the radical elements, which could have serious repercussions. Badal said Amarinder was trying to disturb the peaceful fabric of Punjab. “Congress is supporting the radical elements, which is not in favour of peace in the state.
