Chandigarh: IT company’s CEO booked for not providing software codes to Delhi-based businessman

The businessman claimed that he suffered a loss of Rs 10 crore due to the unavailability of the codes. The complainant, Yoginder Kashyap, stated in his complaint to the police that he approached MSSP Wallet Technology Private Limited Company located in Industrial Area Phase 8B last year for developing some softwares for him. He said in his complaint that the deal was struck for Rs 59.78 lakh. “Kashyap had lodged a complaint with the Industrial Area police on March 24 this year alleging that the CEO of MSSP Wallet company did not provide the codes of the softwares to him which resulted in the loss of Rs 10 crore. An investigation was carried out by the Industrial Area police, following which the case was registered on Thursday evening,” said a police official of Industrial Area police post. Kashyap said that he did not want to speak about the case as the matter was under investigation. The officer told Chandigarh Newsline that a case under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Rohtash, the CEO of MSSP Wallet Technology Private Limited. The investigating officer of the case and in-charge of Industrial Area police post, Sub-Inspector Renu Sahu, said that she was yet to find out what had happened and how the fraud was committed. She said that she was recently transferred to the police post and was on leave, so she was yet to find the details of the case. An officer told Chandigarh Newsline that the softwares were related to e-wallets. He added that the softwares could only work if its operator had proper codes. “In this case the company had developed the softwares but did not give the access to the operators. The complainant had said that the accused used to make excuses and did not provide the codes to him,” the officer said, adding that the softwares were to be used for e-trading.
