Train kills 23-year-old businessman in Zirakpur

MOHALI: A city-based businessman lost his life after being hit by a speeding train near Gazipur in Zirakpur on Friday. Result... the train hit him," the cops said. According to government railway police assistant sub-inspector Rajinder Singh , the 23-year-old man, Jaskaran Singh, was thrown up in the air and died on the spot when he hit the ground. We searched him and found aadhar card, pan card and other documents. "We received a call at 11.45am, following which we rushed to the spot and found the victim lying dead.

"The driver of the train, Kalka-Ambala Passenger, in a memo to station master alleged that the deceased was in a rush to cross the railway tracks and even train's continuous horns failed to stop him. Result... the train hit him," the cops said."We received a call at 11.45am, following which we rushed to the spot and found the victim lying dead. We searched him and found aadhar card, pan card and other documents. The deceased was working as a distributer with a private marketing company," the cops added. The parents of the man have been informed. His body has been kept at a mortuary in Derabassi. Inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
