Chandigarh: 2 drivers flee with Rs 14 lakh goods

Chandigarh: Police have booked two truck drivers for allegedly duping a company of Rs 13.90 lakh in Industrial Area, Phase I. Police said they have been gathering call details and mobile phone locations of the truck drivers. The drivers also took freight of Rs 58,500 to deliver the goods in Bihar last year. Both loaded goods worth lakhs on two truck and took freight charges for deliver the goods but neither delivered the goods nor returned them to the company.Police said Karan Pahwa, manager, Avon Rims Private Limited, Industrial Area, Phase I, alleged Partap and Vikas loaded 425 bundles containing 4,688 pieces of rims worth Rs 13.33 lakh on two trucks for delivery at Patna . Both drivers disappeared and intentionally hid themselves, Pahwa allegedAfter failing to trace the trucks and drivers for months, the company manager filed a complaint against the drivers at the SSP public window.Police registered a case under Section 407 (criminal breach of trust by carrier) of the IPC.
