Punjab government had also announced an award of Rs 50 lakh award to the person giving information leading to the assailants. He had already announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to those killed in the incident and a job to the next of kin of deceased in the incident. When asked why there were no CCTV cameras in Nirnakari Bhawan, he replied "I am sure the CCTV cameras would be put in Nirankari Bhawan but we will ask others also to install CCTV camera’s where such congregations are held".On the occasion Amarinder announced a compensation of Rs 50000 to twenty injured persons in the grenade blast. AMRITSAR: Stating that Nirankari Bhawan grenade attack was a clear cut incident of terrorism, chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh cautioned to not link the incident with that of 1978 Nirankari –Sikh clash which left 13 Sikhs killed and eventually led to beginning of terrorism in Punjab.While talking to media persons here on Monday, Amarinder said, " 1978 Nirankari clash was a religious issue while this is a clear cut incident of terrorism and no one should see the attack in context with 1978 issue".Stating that both the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as well as forensic team were investigating into the incident, he said they had some leads on which police was working. "We never know from which place these people can come in but we have to be alert and our police is fully on the alert", he said.Stating that it was not possible to check every individual, Amarinder said that all the naka’s were out and police was on the job.He said that the target of assailants was a congregation and it could have happened to anybody.
