Four days after an elderly woman and her three grandchildren were killed at Khatauli village here, her eldest daughter Navneet Devi, alias Lovely, was arrested on Tuesday night. Raj Bala’s only son Singh had reportedly committed suicide at his house in 2008. and her daughter-in-law Sudha got disappeared.

Accused Navneet is also being questioned in connection with the mysterious disappearance of the elderly woman, Raj Bala’s, daughter-in-law Sudha Devi in 2016. DCP (Panchkula) Kamaldeep Goel said Navneet, married to one Raj Kumar, a resident of Bita village in Ambala, confessed to her involvement in the conspiracy of the murder of her mother Raj Bala and the four children of her late brother Ominder Singh for property. “She was questioned twice and today (Tuesday) she broke down. Her husband Kumar, who is at large, had hired the killers. Killers are yet to be identified, but we are sure that they are from UP,” said the DCP. Accused Navneet will be produced in a local court on Wednesday. Police sources said during interrogation, the eldest daughter confessed to the police that she had asked her husband to execute the crime. “He told her that he would arrange people to execute the murder. It was over property that the murder was committed. Those who executed the crime are yet to be arrested.” Lovely claimed during preliminary interrogation that she had received least compensation money from her mother and other daughters had received huge sums. Recently, Raj Bala had decided to transfer all her property on the name of her grandchildren. “I was staying with my mother for last eight years and taking care of her and her grandchildren,” she told police. Lovely had left the house hours before the murders last Friday, along with her son Vijay. Police also rounded up Vijay for questioning. Advertising The bullet-riddled bodies of Raj Bala and her three grandchildren — Aishwarya, Divyanshu and Ayush — were found lying in a pool of blood at their ancestral house at Khatauli on November 17.
