Bank staffer dies as bike collides with animal

However, the police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Penal Code at Zirakpur police station. The victim used to work at a private bank located at Phase 7, Mohali.The incident took place at night near Jashan Dhaba when victim along with his uncle, identified as Birajpal Singh, 37, were on their way to home from Mohali.

MOHALI: In yet another incident, a 25-year-old man lost his life while one sustained minor injuries when a stray cattle collided with their motorcycle near Jashan Dhaba at Chandigarh-Ambala highway on Friday late night, said police.According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Bhushan Singh Rana, 25, resident of Tukri village near Handesra in Dera Bassi sub-division . The victim used to work at a private bank located at Phase 7, Mohali.The incident took place at night near Jashan Dhaba when victim along with his uncle, identified as Birajpal Singh, 37, were on their way to home from Mohali. Birajpal was driving the motorcycle while Bhushan was the pillion rider. When they reached near Jashan Dhaba, located close to light point of Chatt village, a stray cattle came in their way and collided with the motorcycle."After the collision, both the riders fell on ground and Bhusan's head hit the road. His helmet was also damaged during the fall. Both the victims were rushed to Derabassi civil hospital, where Bhusan was declared brought dead on the arrival by doctors," said constable Jaskarn Singh, investigating officer of the case.Birajpal, victim's uncle, told the police that after the accident, Bhushan was admitted to the hospital. Birajpal had gone to Mohali for some work and Bhushan worked in Mohali. Therefore at night, they were coming back home together.Jaskarn Singh added that the incident occurred at night but they were informed on Saturday. However, the police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Penal Code at Zirakpur police station.
