Farmer compensation: Admin seeks a week's time

This time the money will be coming directly from the Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR) with only a single click. The FCR madam will press one button from her office and all the money will come from there. The insured cases will start receiving the compensation from the insurance company. All the Patwaris, Kanungos, Operators are busy in preparing the compensation. AMBALA: The officials of the district administration have asked for one more week from the farmers for giving them the compensation of paddy crop loss which happened due to hailstorm in the month of October in the district.On December 7, the Haryana unit of the Bharitiya Kisan Union (BKU) under the leadership of district president Malkiat Singh Sahibpura had met the officials of the district administration while demanding the compensation of the paddy crop loss.

AMBALA: The officials of the district administration have asked for one more week from the farmers for giving them the compensation of paddy crop loss which happened due to hailstorm in the month of October in the district.On December 7, the Haryana unit of the Bharitiya Kisan Union (BKU) under the leadership of district president Malkiat Singh Sahibpura had met the officials of the district administration while demanding the compensation of the paddy crop loss. The BKU had given an ultimatum to the administration to compensate till December 15, if not; they will confront the deputy commissioner (DC) office on December 17.Before December 7, the BKU have had two meetings with the officials on the same issue.According to the ultimatum, the farmers today held a protest outside the DC office.Today, while pacifying the protesting farmers, Ambala City Tehsildar , Karnab Lakra said, “Due to the ongoing process of bifurcation of the insured and non-insured compensation cases, it is taking some time to upload the information into the software. More than 90 per cent of the work has been completed and within a period of less than one week you will be receiving the compensation”On this, the farmers said, the administration has been demanding such time of one week since the completion of the survey but we have not received any compensation till date.Replying to the farmers, tehsildar Karnab said, “I have come for the first time in front of you, and since last two months, our entire staff has been working day and night without even taking holidays on Saturdays and Sundays. All the Patwaris, Kanungos, Operators are busy in preparing the compensation. Earlier, the process which used to take the time period of 6 months, has been completed in just 2 months and 95 per cent work has been completed and within one week you will receive the money. We are feeding the data into the software and it is some technical work that is why it is taking some time.”The farmers were pacified and they have now given the time till December 27.
