De-addiction camp organised in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: The annual community de-addiction camp was organised by the Department of Psychiatry of Government Medical College and Hospital at Rural Health and Training Centre ( RHTC ) in Chandigarh on Friday.A team consisted of resident doctors, clinical psychologists, social workers, nursing staff provided regular indoor and outdoor services to the patients.A total of 219 patients were registered at the camp of which 62 were new and 157 were follow-up patients.About 18 patients were admitted in the indoor camp of which 16 were alcohol-dependence patients and 2 were nicotine addicts.“Patients, who were registered in the camp, will be seen in the community outreach clinics of the Department of Psychiatry on all working days in Palsora,” said Dr Ajeet Sidana, consultant in-charge.
