Aryan, Sriwalli clinch titles

Chandigarh, June 21Aryan Thakur registered a 6-1 6-4 win over Lakshya Gupta to clinch the boys’ U-16 title on the concluding day of the Roots AITA (CS-7) National Ranking Championship in Zirakpur on Friday. Sarthak Gandhi won the boys’ U-18 title after beating Rohan Phule 6-2 6-1 in the final, while Sriwalli rallied from a set down beat Harleen Kaur Dhanda in the girls’ U-18 title clash. Sriwalli lost the opening set 4-6, but came back strongly to win the next two sets 6-4 6-4 to claim the title. In the girls’ U-16 competition, Priyal Choudhary humbled Jaskirat Kaur 6-3 6-4 to clinch the title. In the boys’ U-18 doubles final, Sarthak Gandhi and Akash Srinivasan registered a 6-2 6-1 win over Aditya Chauhan and Lakshya Gupta.
