Work on waste plant to begin soon: MLA

Panchkula, June 26 The local MLA, Gian Chand Gupta, here today announced that a tender notice was issued for the setting up of solid waste management plant in Jheuriwala, which would be a permanent solution to the garbage and foul smell emanating from it. Gupta was addressing a gathering during a programme organised by the Municipal Corporation to felicitate sanitation inspectors and supervisors of the 20 Wards in the city. He also gave away appreciation certificates to sanitation workers on the occasion. “A marathon will be organised on the subject of clean, healthy and beautiful Panchkula on July 21 in the city,” the MLA added. While appealing to all to further improve the cleanliness rank of the district she said, “Every citizen should make cleanliness a part of his/her daily routine.” The Municipal Commissioner-cum-Administrator, Rajesh Jogpal, City Magistrate Gagandeep Singh, Cvil Surgeon Yogesh Sharma, Executive Officer Jarnail Singh and the Swachh Bharat Mission brand ambassador, Sudha Sharma, were among others present during the function.
