IIT-Ropar students develop smart school system app

Tribune News ServiceRopar, July 11An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, and his junior who has been pursuing mechanical engineering developed a smart school management solution system titled ‘Enlight’. The smart android-based app along with digitalising fuctioning of schools at an affordable cost would also bridge a gap between parents and teachers. The cost of using the app would vary from Rs 5 to Rs 12 per student on the basis of services opted by the school. School fee can also be paid directly through the aap and parents can track location of school bus. Enlight would also provide solution to ‘Data analytics’, including comparison between classes and performance history of students.

Ropar, July 11 An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, and his junior who has been pursuing mechanical engineering developed a smart school management solution system titled ‘Enlight’. The smart android-based app along with digitalising fuctioning of schools at an affordable cost would also bridge a gap between parents and teachers. The cost of using the app would vary from Rs 5 to Rs 12 per student on the basis of services opted by the school. In 2017, Harsh Sahay, who was pursuing his BTech (Electrical) founded Dron Digital Services Pvt Ltd with his junior Sonu Kumar Kedia. The IIT-Ropar funded their venture and provided them facilities through the Technology Business Incubation Foundation on the campus. The duo said ‘Enlight’ would prove very beneficial for parents as they can monitor real-time daily attendance, homework, assignments, marks and performance of their wards. School fee can also be paid directly through the aap and parents can track location of school bus. Moreover, those parents who do not use a smartphone would get all the information through SMS. Parents would directly receive notification and SMS regarding PTM, leave, events and lost and found items, they added. Enlight would also provide solution to ‘Data analytics’, including comparison between classes and performance history of students. In spite of having all these features, the android app was only 6 MB in size.
