Man booked for abduction, raping minor

Tribune News ServicePatiala, July 14The police in Banur have booked a man for rape on the complaint of a minor girl who alleged that the accused had been raping her for quite a long time and then married her forcibly after abducting her. The police said the accused was a relative of the minor girl and used to visit her house. They said as per the girl’s statement, the man raped her repeatedly and abducted her. SHO Gurmukh Singh of Banur said the girl informed her family about the matter recently who reported to the police. He said the man allegedly prepared a fake marriage certificate in May a year ago.

Patiala, July 14 The police in Banur have booked a man for rape on the complaint of a minor girl who alleged that the accused had been raping her for quite a long time and then married her forcibly after abducting her. The police said the accused was a relative of the minor girl and used to visit her house. They said as per the girl’s statement, the man raped her repeatedly and abducted her. He later took her to Mansa Devi temple for marriage. SHO Gurmukh Singh of Banur said the girl informed her family about the matter recently who reported to the police. He said the man allegedly prepared a fake marriage certificate in May a year ago. The police have registered a case against four identified and 4-5 unidentified persons under Sections 376 (rape), 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, Section 4 and 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 10 and 11 of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.
