Hit by auto, UP native killed

BRIEFLYMohali: A migrant (26) was killed after being hit by an auto-rickshaw here. The victim, Amar Mourya, is a native of UP and residing at Adarsh Nagar in Balongi. Amar was on foot when a speedy auto hit him near SS Farms on the Kharar-Landran road. Rohit, along with three other youths, was strolling near the Amri river when he decided to take a bath. Amar was on foot when a speedy auto hit him near SS Farms on the Kharar-Landran road. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Kharar where he died. The unidentified auto driver has been booked. TNS Youth feared drowned Ambala: A youth was feared drowned in a seasonal river here on Monday evening. The victim has been identified as Rohit (21) of Sambhalka village here. Rohit, along with three other youths, was strolling near the Amri river when he decided to take a bath. Other youths said Rohit jumped into the river but didn’t come out. Village sarpanch Jitender Kaur said divers were making efforts to trace the youth. — TNS Vanamahotsava celebrations Chandigarh: The Department of Forests & Wildlife, Chandigarh Administration, will celebrate Vanamahotsava - 2019 on Tuesday. TNS Fire at plastic pipe godown Ambala: A fire broke out at a two-storeyed godown of plastic pipes at Manav Chowk in Ambala City on Monday. No causality was reported in the incident. Smoke was noticed around 9:15 am. Seven fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. It took nearly 2 hours to control the fire. Plastic pipes and other products worth lakhs were gutted. Besides, the building also suffered severe damage. Satish Kumar, owner of the godown, said the exact loss and the reason behind the incident were yet to be ascertained. President Salil Bali gave a presentation on his plans for the year to serve humanity and make a difference by connecting the world through Rotary. On the occasion, Vehida and Sandeep were given interest-free microloans for start-up business. Ashmita, a rotaractor, was presented scholarship for her higher education.
