Cross-FIRs in group clash

In the first FIR, the police have booked seven women among 24 persons for allegedly attacking a family in Raipur Rani over an old dispute. She said a large number of persons carrying sticks entered her house and told her that she had closed the path to their house. Sakuri said they did not listen to her pleas and Bant, his daughter and daughter-in-law started hitting her. SI Raj Pal said during preliminary investigation, it came to fore that both families had some old enmity.

Panchkula, July 19 The police have registered cross-FIRs as two groups clashed at Rahena village near Raipur Rani on Thursday. In the first FIR, the police have booked seven women among 24 persons for allegedly attacking a family in Raipur Rani over an old dispute. Jasbir Singh, 32, a resident of Raihna village in Raipur Rani, in his complaint to the police, said Najar Ali, along with his sons and relatives, gathered near his house and started hurling abuses and making remarks on his caste. Singh said they were carrying sticks, swords and attacked them, leaving some of them injured. In the second FIR, complainant Sakuri told the police that on Thursday evening around 5 pm she went to give fodder to cattle near her house. She said a large number of persons carrying sticks entered her house and told her that she had closed the path to their house. Sakuri said they did not listen to her pleas and Bant, his daughter and daughter-in-law started hitting her. She said after hearing her shrieks, her kin came to her house and tried to save her, but they were also assaulted. SI Raj Pal said during preliminary investigation, it came to fore that both families had some old enmity.
