Playing at the Sector 50 Sports Complex, Vadya registered an 11-8 7-11 11-9 11-9 win over Abhinav Kaushik in the final. In the semifinals, Vaani had drubbed Ishrat 11-8 11-7 11-8, while Teetiksha had blanked Bhavya 11-9 11-7 11-6. Earlier, in semis, Vishal defeated Saksham Sharma 11-8 11-9 11-7 and Sood overpowered Vihaan Dhalla 11-8 9-11 11-8 11-8. In semis, she defeated Hasratjit 11-8 11-7 11-9 and Teetiksha defeated Vaani 11-8 11-7 9-11 8-11 11-9. Aggarwal defeated Aariv 11-8 7-11 11-8 11-8 and Samarth defeated Harkirat 11-8 11-7 9-11 11-9 in semis.

Chandigarh, September 15 Vadya and Vaani won boys' and girls' U-10 titles respectively on the concluding day of the 32nd Cadets and Sub-Junior Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championships for Gurukul Global Trophy here today. Playing at the Sector 50 Sports Complex, Vadya registered an 11-8 7-11 11-9 11-9 win over Abhinav Kaushik in the final. In the girls' U-10 competition, Vaani overcame Teetiksha 11-8 9-11 11-7 6-11 11-9 to claim the title. In the semifinals, Vaani had drubbed Ishrat 11-8 11-7 11-8, while Teetiksha had blanked Bhavya 11-9 11-7 11-6. Meanwhile, in the girls' U-12 team final, Tender Heart School, Sector 33, defeated DAV Public School, Sector 8, 3-0.Arshia thrashed Manika 12-10 11-3 11-5, while Teetiksha edged out Paridhi 11-3 11-2 11-6. Arshia and Teetiksha then paired together to overcame Manika and Paridhi 11-8 5-11 11-13 11-4 11-9 to claim the title. Tender Heart School also topped the boys' U-12 competition. They beat DAV School 3-0 in the final. Vardaan defeated Saksham Ahuja 11-8 11-7 9-11 11-5, while Vishal overpowered Bhavya 11-8 11-9 11-7. Vishal and Vardaan then packed off Saksham and Bhavya 11-2 11-6 11-8 in the doubles contest to pull off a 3-0 win for Tender Heart. Manav Mangal High School, Sector 21, humbled Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, 3-1 to bag the girls' U-15 title. Neha gave Manav Mangal a head start with a 10-12 11-8 11-6 14-12 win over Hasrat in the opening match, but Sowmyah blanked Kalpana 11-5 11-4 11-8 to help Carmel Convent draw level. Neha and Kalpana rallied to beat Hasrat and Sowmyah 9-11 11-4 13-11 9-11 11-9 in the doubles contest to regain the lead before Neha thumped Sowmyah 11-6 11-2 11-7 in the reverse singles contest to help her side claim the title.In the boys' U-15 title clash, Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, blanked Tender Heart School 3-0. Arnav put Gurukul boys ahead with an 11-6 11-8 11-13 11-5 win over Vaibhav. Aariv defeated Vishal 11-4 11-7 11-8 to make it 2-0 for Gurukul and then combined with Samarth to beat Vishal and Vaibhav 4-11 11-9 11-5 11-6 in the doubles match to finish on top of the podium. Vishal, Manal win titles Vishal of Tender Heart School won the boys' U-12 title by defeating Pritish Sood 11-8 11-7 9-11 11-9. Manal meanwhile won the girls' U-12 final by defeating Teetiksha 11-8 11-7 11-13 11-9. In semis, she defeated Hasratjit 11-8 11-7 11-9 and Teetiksha defeated Vaani 11-8 11-7 9-11 8-11 11-9. Neha defeated Pelf 15-13 8-11 11-7 8-11 11-9 to win the girls' U-15 final. Arnav Aggarwal won the boys' U-15 category defeating Samarth Sharma 11-7 11-9 11-6. Aggarwal defeated Aariv 11-8 7-11 11-8 11-8 and Samarth defeated Harkirat 11-8 11-7 9-11 11-9 in semis. In boys' junior doubles category, Aggarwal and Samarth defeated Aariv and Harkirat 11-8 9-11 11-8 11-8, while Pelf and Neha won the girls' sub-junior title by defeating Teetiksha and Manal 11-8 8-11 11-7 11-9.—TNS
