Railways launches Swachhta Pakhwada

Ambala, September 16The Ambala division of Northern Railways has launched a Swachhta Pakhwada from Monday to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It will be observed till September 30. While administering the pledge to Railway officials, the DRM, Ambala, DC Sharma emphasised on the cleanliness of offices, stations, trains and nearby premises. The DRM conveyed to those present on the occasion, “We cannot relinquish our responsibility to keep offices and surroundings clean.”“Railways has taken various initiatives to keep stations and trains clean by providing dual dustbins to segregate wet waste from other waste, to ban the single-use plastic on rail premises and promoting cleanliness awareness programmes through nukkad nataks,” he added. Special designed T-Shirts, caps, posters and banners carrying the Swachhta slogans were distributed among officials during the function.
