Balwant, Nyeman win gold on Day 1

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh, September 16Rajasthan's Balwant Singh won the gold medal in the boys' taolu (changquan) competition on the opening day of the 18th Junior National Wushu Championship at Punjab University here today. Bhanu Singh from Uttar Pradesh claimed silver, while Madhya Pradesh's Shashwat Aggarwal settled for the bronze medal. Arunachal’s Nyeman Wangsu topped the podium in the girls' category. She was followed by Oinman Parkpi Devi in second place, while Kerala's Shilpa occupied the third spot. Nine hundred participants from 32 states are competing in the championship.
