Gymnastics meet from Sept 27

BRIEFLYChandigarh: Chandigarh Gymnastics Association will organise the Chandigarh Sub-Junior State Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship at the Sector 7 Sports Complex here from September 27-29. The interested players need to register for the event before September 27. TNSChandigarh: Chandigarh Carrom Association will organise the 29th Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament at St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, from October 5-7. The three-day championship will feature men’s and women’s singles, junior boys’ and girls’ (U-18) singles and sub-junior boys’ and girls’ (U-14) singles competitions. The interested players need to register for the tournament before September 30.

TNS Tennis tourney from Sept 28 Chandigarh: The Lawrebs Tennis Open Tournament will begin at Modern Ways School, Sector 2, here from September 28, the organisers said here on Monday. The tournament will be held in U-10, U-12 and U-14 age-groups. The interested players need to register for the event before September 27. TNS Chandigarh: Chandigarh Carrom Association will organise the 29th Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament at St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, from October 5-7. The three-day championship will feature men’s and women’s singles, junior boys’ and girls’ (U-18) singles and sub-junior boys’ and girls’ (U-14) singles competitions. A player below 18 years and 14 years as on December 31, 2019, will be eligible to participate in the junior and sub-junior category respectively, the sports body said here on Monday. The top-eight ranked players will be awarded ranking points which will be considered while selecting the city team for the national championships. The interested players need to register for the tournament before September 30. TNS Chandigarh: Namaste Chandigarh Complex (NCC), Dera Bassi, defeated Max Fitness Pvt Limited, Mohali, by two runs in a Maa Tujhe Salaam T20 Cup match here on Monday. Batting first, NCC were all out for 104 runs in 19.3 overs. Gulshan made 41, while Rishi Arora added 28 runs to the NCC total. Dipender (3/6) was the moist effective bowler for Max. Prabhsharan Kahlon claimed 2/25. In reply, Max boys could only manage 102/9 in the allotted overs. Punjeet Singh (32) did the bulk of scoring for Max. TNS
