Man murdered, cops book six

The police said the incident took place late on Sunday night when the victim, Karanveer Singh (49), and suspects gathered at the village near a bank. After the incident, the police booked six persons, including two juveniles and three unidentified persons. The suspects were booked under Sections 302, 120-B, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). All are residents of Pipal Mangoli village.

Patiala, September 18 The Patiala police have booked six persons for allegedly killing a man at Pipal Mangoli village of the Ghanaur block in the district. The police said the incident took place late on Sunday night when the victim, Karanveer Singh (49), and suspects gathered at the village near a bank. The police said the suspects and the victim, a farmer, had a heated argument over an issue. Annoyed over it, the suspects thrashed Karanveer. The victim somehow managed to flee from the spot. The suspects again caught him and attacked him with a sharp weapon, the police said. Karnaveer died on the spot. After the incident, the police booked six persons, including two juveniles and three unidentified persons. However, the police have arrested one of the suspects while others are still at large. The suspects were booked under Sections 302, 120-B, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to the police, the suspects have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh (22) and two juveniles. Three others are yet to be identified. All are residents of Pipal Mangoli village. The Ghanaur SHO said they had arrested one of the suspects while raids were being conducted to nab others.
