Week-long job fair kicks off at Mandi Gobindgarh

Our Correspondent Fatehgarh Sahib, Sept 20 Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme, Dr Prashant Kumar Goyal, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Fatehgarh Sahib, inaugurated the week-long mega job fair, being organised by the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, today. Job fairs will be organised in the district till September 30. Forty two companies will offer more than 7,000 job opportunities to unemployed youths in the district. On Day 1, as many as 453 unemployed youth were shortlisted for jobs. The DC called upon youths to avail maximum benefit of job fairs and loan being provided on subsidy under self-employment schemes. He also handed over loan sanction letters to youths for self employment. He instructed officials to provide every possible help to youths. Jaspreet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G)-cum-CEO, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, said, “A series of mega job fairs has been started. Job fairs will be held at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, on September 24, at RIMT University Mandi, Gobindgarh Sahib, on September 26, 27, 28 and at Cordia College Sanghol (Khamano), on September 30.” “Various firms participating in these job fairs will select eligible candidates for jobs as per their qualifications. Other training partners will also be at fairs, which will help in providing job opportunities to aspirants,” he added. Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, thanked the district administration for organising job fair on the university campus.
