P’kula Sector 20 residents protest

Tribune News ServicePanchkula, October 16Members of the Sector 20 society Resident Welfare Association (RWA) today staged a protest near community centre to highlight their demands before contesting candidates of various political parties in the city. The association president, KK Jindal, said they had decided to boycott political meetings and rallies of all parties as their demands had not been fulfilled by previous governments. Their main demands, include a meeting with the HSVP with sector 20 residents regarding calculation of tariff enhancement, solve problem of traffic jams by constructing flyover over Sector 12-12A and Sector 21-20, linking of the sewerage system with treatment plant, shifting of the proposed construction of Ashiana flats from Sector 20 as the area lacked major park, he added. They would continue to protest till October 19 at the same place to highlight their problems before the government, he said. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Chander Mohan, who was on election campaign in Sector 20, met protesting residents and assured them that if the party’s government came to power, their problems would be solved on priority basis.
