Tribune News ServiceChandigarh, October 21Seven student organisations of the PU — AISA, ASA, AFSS, SATH, PSU (LALKAR), SFI and SFS — today protested against the decision of the PU authorities, designating the Old Parade Ground as the place for future protests.
The organisations requested the PU authorities to immediately withdraw the decision and restore the democratic setup of the university.
The DUI and officiating Vice-Chancellor Shankarji Jha said: “We had issued the notification on September 27 and will ask the protesting students as to where else do they want to protest if not the Old Parade Ground.
Though PU VC Prof Raj Kumar is not in town, I have also conveyed the students’ concerns to him.
